A sweet little ditty about paranoia. Peter Gabriel meets Beck meets The Talking Heads with a little "Kick"-era INXS
This track features some live drum action by the funky Bruce Spencer .
Also featured are some beats and tasty bits by the multi-talented Alex Voudoris,
who engineered a lot of this song with me over at IHOOK STUDIOS.
Last but not least, bass guitar by Nick Willow. He just gets it.
Everything else is li'l ol' me

This is the most recent and "final" version of the song. There is guitar added to the opening sequence and the instrumental bit leading into the second verse. I don't know why it took me so long to figure out that it really needed some guitar in those spots to tie the whole song together. Enjoy!

I worked in the Booking area of the Sacramento County Jail for sometime. I saw all walks of life coming through for all kinds of things. This is fiction that came from that experience. But it's all true.
Once again Alex Voudoris(pictured below)

added a lot of mood and beat structure to this song.
Contributing some work on ebo was Victor Valena
Nathan Dale contributed valuable arrangement advice and lots of help with the mix.
Nick Willow slides in on bass again.
Everything else is just moody ol' me
Thanks to all of you. This song wouldn't be what it is without your help!!!

First version of the song recorded for the disc. Almost there...but I had to do the remix above.

Some years ago, after my record deal with Sony/Columbia ended I found myself working day jobs again (horror!!). This song was written during a stint working a NIGHT job, loading RPS trucks from 11:00pm to 4:00am. Sometimes things just don't work out the way you planned, but what are you gonna do? This song is the perfect example of that. I've done about 4 versions of it over the years with each one slightly better. I'm seriously considering ONE MORE shot at this one. But you should Buy This One before it is obsolete. Yes, buy it RIGHT NOW and tell me what you think.
This was a Looking Star favorite, it seemed and was recorded and mixed by Nathan Dale and Steve King
Bass was provided by Jeremy Plog.
There is a locally made music video for this song as well, which I shall post in the next couple of days in the video section. Cheers!

Drinking and driving. Fighting. Kiss-offs and a chip on the shoulder. This song has it all.
Another Looking Star track penned by me and recorded by Nathan Dale(also played guitar)
and Steve King (also on drums)
Jeremy Plog features on bass again as well.

Relationships. Aaaah the joy of communication between two people, one of whom just wants to SLEEP, for the love of GOD can you JUST ROLL OVER AND SLEEP so we can talk about this in the MORNING. YES, I DO CARE ABOUT US!! I just need to SLEEEEEP!!
This song was recorded by Looking Star at Nathan's house for Sacramento compilation CD for charity that featured acoustic versions
of songs by local Sacramento bands.
Bass on this one is provided Isaac Parsons, formerly of The Mother Hips

I did an interview and live performance for KXJZ's Insight program with Jeffrey Callison in December of '07. This is an acoustic version of "One By One" from that show.

This is a complete remix of the song done on 10/15/07. The background vocals are all new and some edits have been made to shorten the song. Also the whole mix itself has been revisited. DOWNLOAD. COMPARE. ENJOY. DISCUSS.

This is a song from my Looking Star days, a collaboration between my great friend and guitarist and computer guru Nathan Dale and myself. I am now recording a new version that moves it beyond the mellow adult contemporary stylings of this current recording.

I've been on a lot of flights. Most of them have movies. I don't care what it is, I NEVER like the freakin' movie. It's not because most of them suck, which most of them do. It's because I'm on a plane. There have been a few films I've had a chance to revisit later on that I've ended up enjoying, even loving. This song has that kind of emotional flip flop going on for me. As vehemently as I felt about this when I wrote it, right now, I'm just glad it's fun to dance to.

This was originally slated to be the opening track on the record when I was still calling myself Fallen Aliens. After switching to just "Hans" and completing some of the other tracks I started to feel like this was going to sit better somewhere in the middle of the record. We'll see how it all pans out. This song was a lot of fun to make as you can probably tell from the background chatter I included. I like it because it's pretty much the perfect representation of my dual nature which is a combination of child-like wonder and whimsy and dark, angsty cynicism.

This is an updated mix that is a bit hotter and also shorter.
