This alternate version of "Read You" was from a "patio" show that happened on Second Saturday for the month of May at a place on Del Paso Boulevard called Enotria, a gorgeous place with a fine wine list.(The New Zealand based Pinot Noir we had was DELICIOUS) It's a great spot with tons of potential and a young staff who are trying to "liven the place up". Unfortunately, it's a square peg in a round hole at this point. A rather typical Sacramento scenario I must say.Great ideas, poor execution. The outside patio was beautiful and sounded good, but no one was there, because they had us playing before the dinner crowd even showed. When they did, it was a crowd of grey-haired people, who probably rocked out to Hendrix and Janis Joplin back in the day, but now chose to sit inside and send out the waitstaff to ask our ACOUSTIC trio to turn down. More than once. There was soft jazz playing inside. Why were we there?? I don't know, but I got some sweet recordings out of it. This place could really be something special and intimate, like places in Austin Texas, or some upscale singer/songwriter venues in L.A....but....it's Sacramento...
